The Excellence Punta Cana death is a tragedy that happened at an all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic. On May 30, 2018, a young woman named Abbey Conner was found dead in a pool at the resort. Her death was later determined to be due to alcohol poisoning.
Abbey and her brother, Austin, had been drinking at the resort’s swim-up bar earlier in the day. They were served drinks with high levels of alcohol content without being told how strong they were. Abbey and Austin both passed out and were taken to separate rooms by hotel staff.
Abbey was later found dead in the pool.
Austin survived, but he has no memory of what happened that day. He woke up in a hospital bed days later with a concussion and other injuries.
